The overall winner will be unveiled at half time during the Finn Harps v Derry City match in Finn Park on Friday 4th March 2016. This is Finn Harps first game in the Premier Division of the new season and a full house is expected for this much anticipated game with their local rivals.

The winning piece will feature as an advertising hoarding promoting Road Safety in Finn Park for the 2016 season. The wonderful array of pictures received not only shows the creative ability in our schools, it also underlines how our committed local teachers create an environment where children can express their talents.

Road Safety Officer with Donegal County Council , Brian O’Donnell, thanked all the schools for participating in the competition. He said, “I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the schools for again getting behind this Road Safety initiative. We had almost 650 entries and the creativity and diversity of how the children interpret the Road Safety theme every year is simply outstanding.  The young artists who entered this year’s competition should be extremely proud of themselves.  It was a very difficult process to choose a winner as the standard was so high from all the entries. It is fantastic to see the quality of art being produced in schools throughout the County.”

John Campbell Finn Harps Schools Programme coordinator stated, “Finn Harps Schools are delighted with the response to the Road Safety Art Competition, ran in conjunction with the Donegal Road Safety Working Group. This competition is very popular with the Primary School children and this year again we had almost 650 entries. We are delighted that Finn Harps can assist in the promotion of Road Safety in Donegal. We are inviting all the winners to the first home game of the season against Derry City on Friday 4th March, where the category winners will receive their prizes and the overall winning entry will be unveiled on the night. We would like to thank Grace Ann Mc Garvey for all her work with the Finn Harps Schools programme. As in other years the winning overall entry will be on display at Finn Park for the coming season as an 8’ x 4’ display.”
